Nifty Halloween YouTube Thing: Danse Macabre

To start: I know nothing about this cartoon other than it was created by David Prebenna in 1985 and aired on PBS somewhere around that time. But not knowing adds to its glorious mystery. Here we have the otherworldly music of Camille Saint-Saëns, itself a celebration of the holiday, and with it gorgeous visuals that move but not quite, providing a literal adaptation of the “Danse Macabre” legend. It’s a lovely work; I wish I had discovered it earlier.
