One of my newer Halloween traditions is an annual viewing of “Blink,” considered by many (including me) to be the best episode of the modern Doctor Who series. The weeping angels remain Steven Moffat’s finest creation (and no amount of follow-up stories or Moffat-as-show-runner stumbles can lessen their impact), and the episode is a firecracker, tense and terrific storytelling that’s as fun as it is frightening. And, thankfully for curious newcomers, it also works nicely as a standalone yarn for those who’ve never seen Who before.
Presented here, however, is a treat that’ll be lost on the newcomers: the entirety of the Doctor’s “Easter egg” message to Sally Sparrow. Don’t turn your back. Don’t look away. And don’t blink.
Bonus! Netflix subscribers can watch “Blink” in its entirety here.
